Hi BSD,

I am Jeroen, 31 and living in The Netherlands. I enjoy flying helicopters in a variety of simulations (x-plane, arma 3, DCS). Now looking to expand my flying skills in a more realistic warfare setting. In real life I have my Private license on small piston aircraft and every now and then like to rent a Cessna or something similar for a small flight in my area. Below are the requested details. I will connect to discord this afternoon to see what the possibilities are for a training flight.

  • your call sign - Houseman
  • your age - 31
  • your type of internet connection and speed - Unsure of type, 50MBit/s
  • your timezone - UTC+1 (Amsterdam)
  • your availability during the week and or weekends - Thursdays and every other weekend
  • your approximate number of flight hours already spent on DCS - 50 hours
  • your knowledge level with the integrated DCS Mission Editor - Basic, able to make a small mission but no experience with triggers and such
  • your preferred chopper (you can love them all!) - At the moment I only own the Gazelle
  • your expectations w.r.t BSD. - A community that simulates rw operations with a great level of realism

    Welcome to BSD, Houseman!

Great to get your intro flight done today by Guinness one of our OH Instructor Pilots from the USA

You are now promoted to Private with trainee status.

You now have proper access to the forums and the BSD library.
    Our welcome guide is HERE
    BSD SOP is HERE
    Brevity is HERE
Our mods that you will need are HERE
Tutorial for the mods is HERE

For quicker access to our missions until you can read the SOP, here is a quick reference handbook.

Your training file has been built to make sure you log your flight time every time you fly with a BSD member. Use commas, not decimals. A flight in your logbook is 2,5, not 2.5. Also, check out the 1000 task's on the menu. HERE

We will start your RL training right away, feel free to join any Training mission you can. Just send me a DM when you wish to fly we will get you set up!

That's what you will work on first. When you are ready to get checked off on a decent group of them, ask for an IP to fly with you and verify.

Your hours (defined as time flying a helicopter with one or more BSD pilots anywhere, anytime) are logged on the website under Pilots/Pilot logbook / military file, and the Platoon you pick, OH SA-342.

    Your platoon is EU/OH.

Welcome to the squadron! I look forward to flying with you soon.

Remember our servers are 24/7 and you may use them anytime you wish.

Server 1 at this time is running a persistent campaign which is restricted to RL2 and RL1 as pilots but you could request for an Instructor Pilot to take you into Server 1 until you become RL2..

According to Guinness, you handle the aircraft well, you will progress nicely from what he saw of you today and I don't believe RL2 will take you long to reach.
