Intro: Hi all! Skidjit here. Long time lurker, first time caller. Been flying DCS since late 2017, grew up with an affinity for aviation as a kid on early versions of Flight Sim and models. First DCS modules were the KA-50 and UH-1. Ended up grabbing the Sabre and flew with SeaQuark's 39th VFS on the Korea! 1952 server for a while. Have known about BSD since starting DCS, just wasn't sure about the commitment required so I figured it was time to tip the toe in. Currently active duty Coast Guard (doing nothing aviation related), got a few more tours left before hitting the big 20. Looking forward to meeting and greeting the BSD family.

Hello Skidjit and welcome again to BSD!

Thank you for this intro. Next step for you is to jump on our Discord channel and give an IP a shout so they can have you for and introduction flight on one of our server. Nothing hard or formal. Just a quick meet and greet and also an evaluation of your current knowledge of the chopper. The attendance required is, I think, very reasonable. We all have jobs and family to take care of and rel life comes always first! Once a month is enough, we believe, to maintain your currency on any given chopper. Great to have another OH US pilot.

    See you soon online!

    Welcome Skidjit

You are now promoted to Private with trainee status.
You now have access to The Pilots mess and the BSD library.
    Our welcome guide is HERE
    BSD SOP is HERE
    Brevity is HERE
Our mods that you will need are HERE
    Tutorial for the mods HERE

Simple radio is required. You can find that HERE

For quicker access to our missions until you can read the SOP, here is a quick reference handbook.

Your training file has been built to make sure you log your flight time every time you fly with a BSD member. Use commas, not decimals. A flight in your logbook is 2,5, not 2.5. Also, check out the 1000 task's in the menu. HERE
We will start your RL training right away, feel free to join any Training mission you can.

That's what you will work on first. When you are ready to get checked off on a decent group of them, ask for an IP to fly with you and verify.

Your hours (defined as time flying a helicopter with one or more BSD pilots) are logged on the website under Pilots/Pilot logbook / military file, and the Platoon you pick, UH, OH or AH

Welcome to the group, I look forward to flying with you soon again.

Remember our servers are 24/7 and you may use them anytime you wish. Missions can be started through the F10 menu, and are grouped by airfield/takeoff.
