We are having a FARP competition!

FARPs due: July 15th, 2020, noon EST

There are eight judges who will rate the submissions on these criteria using a scale of 1-10:

1 - Overall visual impression & appeal. how good does the FARP look?

2 - Realism. how much did this FARP add to the realism of your experience?

3 - Organization. how much sense does this FARP make in terms of finding your way around?

4 - Performance. especially in VR, how performant is the FARP?

5 - Ease of use. How well do you rate the experience of takeoff, pattern, and landing on this FARP?

COMPETITION INFORMATION:

Competitors will be assigned a grid square. You will create your FARP anywhere inside the limits of that grid square, save it as a static template file, and then send it to me for inclusion into the master mission. The FARP must support refuel/rearm, and include a designated area for troop loading/cargo operations.

The FARP must have a name that is not connected to your identity (remember, this is blind judging!) In terms of sizing, it should accommodate 15-20 helicopters simultaneously (can be comprised of different nearby sections if you wish)

Prevailing winds are from 270 (wind blowing West to East) if that helps you orient it.

Any object in DCS or the BSD mods may be used.

Sound effects shall not be used (to keep it focused on the FARP itself)

There will be one month for you to create your masterpiece. FARPs are due July 15th at noon.

Once the judges have weighed in, the results shall be kept secret, and announced when we fly an "AWARDS CEREMONY" mission to each of the FARPs together, run a pattern around it and land.

There will be a prize of some sort. The high command is still working on what shape that will take.
