I was rather brief in my first intro. This time, a little more specifics about me:

Callsign: Patman

Age: 49

Internet connection: 20 MBPS

Timezone: GMT South Africa

Availability: Week - between 18:00-22:00 GMT. Weekends - can fly any hours as long is scheduled beforehand. I have two young boys who are all go and keep me on my toes.

Flight hours in DCS: Newbie to DCS and online flying. About 40 hrs in total in DCS with various airframes- 8 hrs with UH-1H, 2 hrs SA-342 Gazelle.

Knowledge of DCS Mission Editor: Basic to minimal. 45 min planning 2 quick missions.

Preferred Airframe: Huey and SA-342. (That Gazelle is a stunning light scout and very nimble.) I also fly the Mirage, the F14B Tomcat and the F/A18 Hornet. I am mostly flying and getting hours on the helos and loving the flight dynamics and want to specialise in these creatures and become an excellent pilot and wingman for my squadron.

Peripherals: I fly exclusively in VR with the Oculus Rift S.

Expectations w.r.t BSD: Learn the proper way with as realistic as possible military training and procedures, to become excellent as a pilot and a valuable team member to my squadron, make friends and enjoy camaraderie with fellow crazy pilots. My wife doesn't understand. Calls herself a flightsim widow.

Other: I hold a real world PPL light fixed wing , rated on Piper 140, Piper 180 and Cessna 172. I also fly a lot in Xplane 11. Mainly The Toliss A319, Zibo Boeing 737, the Cessna 172 and the Dreamfoil 407 Jet Ranger helicopter. The passion for aviation runs deep and makes little logical sense to anyone not flying.

Military training: 2 years in the South African Defence Force (SADF) and Airforce Reaction Force rapid deployment Unit.

Thanks for this excellent intro Patman!

You are a real hardcore flight simmer I can see! I started with MSFS and Xplane too for many many years but the day DCS BlackShark came out back in 2009, they all disappeared from my drives and now only DCS is running. Never got back yet (maybe FS 2020)?

Anyway, Saw you are already well underway for your wings on BSD! Looking forward to flying with you soon online!
